Anger shows up when a boundary has been threatened
It is easier to be angry than it is to be sad or scared
Anger has served to protect us and this emotion makes sense
This is what else I have learned about anger:
It damages your relationships with others and you become lonely
There are ways that you can establish and maintain your boundaries in a different way
Being angry doesn't mean that you are a bad person. It means that this is how you have learned to navigate life.
Therapy with me provides a space to let out your anger. Curse all you want, I will probably join you. Then we can figure out if we need to stay angry or try something else, that decision will be up to you.
